Good morning, everyone. I hope this Monday finds you well. I am ready to jump full-force into this week of work ahead of me after enjoying a great Thanksgiving with family and a long, relaxing weekend.

Anyway, let’s talk about moisturizer.

One of my favorite things to do is go back and try out products I may have missed when they were first released. Sometimes I don’t think something is worth the hype until all of a sudden it’s a year later and everyone is still using it. Other times, I somehow have never even heard about something, take it home on a whim, and fall in love. And that’s exactly what happened with the Pixi Skintreats Glowtion Day Dew Brightening Lotion.

Let me start by telling you that I am extremely picky about facial moisturizers. I have really sensitive skin and I hate anything that feels heavy or smells weird. I feel like I am always buying new products to replace the ones I have at home, but nothing ever works for me for very long.

I was browsing through Target the other day, (I left with $100 worth of stuff I didn’t even go in there for, but that’s another story.) and my makeup-newbie girlfriend mentioned that she wanted a new moisturizer. We grabbed the Pixi Glowtion Day Dew partly because I liked the packaging and partly because I’ve been obsessed with subtle highlighters recently. The point is, I didn’t really know anything about it and my expectations were hopeful but not high.

I took it home, tried it out, and wow I love this stuff. Here’s why.

It’s Lightweight

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate heavy moisturizer. I hate anything that feels heavy on my face, honestly. Most moisturizers make me feel like my skin is suffocating, and thinner products never feel like they’re getting the job done.

The Pixi Glowtion Day Dew does not give me any of these problems. It goes on smooth in a nice sheer layer, and within minutes it feels completely absorbed into my skin. I can easily throw my makeup on right over top of it without feeling like my skin can’t breathe. And it really does leave my skin feeling soft all day. In the winter, that is a must.

That Glow

I’ll admit that I spent many years avoiding all things glowing, highlighting, and shimmering. I have a pretty round face and, in the summer, fairly oily skin, so I just didn’t think that extra boost of shine and shimmer was for me.

Recently though, I’ve been really into highlighters. Maybe it’s the holiday season or maybe it’s me desperately trying to look like the cold weather, wind, and indoor heat isn’t drying me right out. Regardless, I’m finding myself turning to brightening products to combat dull skin.

The Pixi Glowtion Day Dew is beautiful. It’s subtle yet noticeable and really just makes your skin look alive again. The best part is that it’s buildable, so you can add a bit extra to places you really want to brighten up. It’s so lovely, in fact, that it’s become my go-to for no-makeup days when I really want to look fresh-faced and give my skin a break.

It Doesn’t Irritate My Sensitive Skin

When I try out new skin products, my skin typically freaks out immediately. Even some of the more natural products out there leave my skin stinging or red. It’s a frustrating game of trial and error trying to find things that won’t irritate me.

For some reason, the Pixi Glowtion Day Dew hasn’t irritated my skin at all. I actually find it to be extremely soothing, especially when my face feels wind-burned from the cold. This moisturizer is Paraben-free and made with soothing lavender oil, so it’s right up my ally and probably yours too if you have problematic skin.
